DWARS is the independent youth organisation of the Dutch Green Party, GroenLinks (GreenLeft). GreenLeft is represented in the Dutch parliament. DWARS was founded in 1991, and is a member of the Federation of Young European Greens. We believe in a green and progressive world, and try to achieve this by organizing activities, participate in demonstrations, hold debates and do all what is necessary to achieve a happy, progressive and green society. The Earth Charter Youth Initiative seeks to take the Mission of the Earth Charter Initiative and make it one that is alive, relevant and applicable to young people globally.

The program provides support to those individuals and youth organizations who are working to bring the Earth Charter and the values and principles it articulates to young people everywhere.

Members of the Earth Charter Youth Group in Sierra Leone are taking the lead in promoting the Earth Charter Initiative and encouraging Sierra Leoneans to put into practice the principles that are set therein...

 

Mission:

Our mission is to have young people in Sierra Leone putting the Mission of the Earth Charter Initiative into action together with their peers and society as a whole:

To establish a sound ethical foundation for the emerging global society and to help building a sustainable world based on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace.

 

Ecofinder Kenya (Ecofinder Youth Movement) is grass-root based organization working towards involvement of young people in natural resources management of Lake Victoria and promoting initiatives that are aimed towards climate change adaptation and poverty alleviation such as sustainable development education.

Federation of Ceylonese Young Greens, known as FCYG is a network of young greens activists comes from Sri-Lanka and Maldives. We are dated back to Feb-2007. FCYG is still in the initiating phase. Its growing not fast, but strongly and sustainability.

AFRICAN REGIONAL FEDERATION OF THE GLOBAL YOUNG GREENS

Friends of Seven Lakes Foundation is established by concerned San Pablenos. The main objective is to protect the 7 endangered lakes from further destruction and pollution. The 7 lakes are the main source of income and livehood by the grassroot communities which are mostly fisherfolks and farmers. FSLF-youth is the youth arm of FSLF to encourage youth volunteerism and community service. This group does not only tackle environmental issues but also aims to respond to the UN's call for achieving the MDGs. The organization together with the civil society lobbies to the local government to approve laws that will protect not just the environment but the people's lives as well.

Notre Réseau est né trois (3) mois après le congrès de Niarobi au Kenya. La Gabonese Young Greens » compte aujourd’hui de nombreux adhérents répartis en groupe locaux déjà dans l'Estuaire et puis devra s'étendre dans la plupart des grandes villes du Gabon.

Les Jeunes Verts sont reconnus par les Verts Mondiaux comme leur mouvement de jeunesse, et adhèrent aux valeurs fondamentales de ce parti.
Les Jeunes Verts ce sont des étudiants, lycéens, salariés et autres personnes sensibles aux idées de l’écologie politique, et désireux de les défendre, de les propager et de les étoffer.

Depuis juillet 2006, date de l’Assemblée Générale, des groupes locaux et régionaux se sont constitués un peu partout dans l'Estuaire.
Les Jeunes Verts font également partie des JVF : Des Jeunes Verts Francophones.

The GRÜNE JUGEND (Green Youth) was founded in 1994 and is the political youth organisation of the german Greens. We`re taking our own, progressive positions within and outside the green party. Although we are officialy part of the Greens, we're completely independent in our political opinions.

Anybody can become a member of us, until he/she is aged 28. You can be an active member within the Green Youth, without being a member of the `old greens`, as we call them. At the moment we have about 5500 members (June 2004, membership is steadily increasing). By the way, we're having an office in the same building as the old greens, with one office coordinator and some students working for us. What we want

We are ecological, social, very critical towards globalisation, democratic, emancipative, antiracistic, international and peaceful. Some of our main political issues are:

• An exit out of nuclear energy
• Priority for environmental protection
• Peaceful solutions where conflicts occur
• High-quality education for everybody, independent of their
• social background More direct democracy for young people
• A globalisation which isn't solely led by economic and geoplitical interests
• A humane drug policy
• The right for asylum
• At least half of the power for women
• A multicultural society without racism
• A fair division of work and income
• Access to internet and the new media for everybody
• Constitutional rights for everybody

Structures

The Green Youth is basic-democratic and is structured in a bottom-up way:

Basis-groups are active on the local level and present in towns and villages. In each german `bundesland` (province our county), a `Landesverband` (regional department) exists; in total 16 in the whole of Germany. These regional departments connect local groups and are in contact with regional politicians. The national `Gruene Jugend` is connecting all these activities.

Twice a year we have our annual congress, in which between 300 and 400 young greens participate. Each member can influence the policies of the Green Youth there. Apart from discussions, decisions and actions, during the congress a new Board for the Green Youth is chosen once a year, which takes care of all the running activities during the year, in cooperation with our Berlin office.

Further, the Green Youth is running an educational programme; we're having about eight different working groups which meet twice a year, during which these working groups organise seminars on issues like gender, peace, racism, economy, education, etc.

Finally, on the european level we take our role in FYEG serious: apart from our annual financial support, we always appoint one Board member to be responsible for international affairs within the Green Youth, and we try to attemd some of the activities of FYEG.
